Village
Villages are the most common inhabited structure. They generate in plains, desert, savanna, taiga, snowy and (since 1.19) meadow biomes, and their building style follows the biome underneath them.

Generation conditions
Minecraft divides the world into 34×34 chunk regions and picks one candidate position per region, keeping a separation of 8 chunks from the region edge. The candidate is then accepted only if the biome at that position is suitable.

How to find a village
- Open your seed. Enter your world seed on the seed map and choose the Minecraft version your world was created in.
- Enable the layer. Turn on the villages layer in the map panel.
- Pick the closest marker. Pan around spawn and choose the marker nearest to where you play.
- Copy the coordinates. Select the marker and copy its coordinates, or copy the ready-made teleport command.
- Travel there. Villages sit on the surface and are visible from a distance. Enable the village layer, then travel to the closest candidate — a village straddling two biomes shows both building styles in game.
Coordinate notes
Markers are placed at the structure start position — the corner chunk Minecraft uses to begin generation — offset to the centre of that chunk. The building itself extends outward from there, so expect the visible structure to sit within a chunk or two of the marker.
