Structure finder

List the closest structure candidates for a seed, sorted by distance, with coordinates you can copy straight into the game.

What this tool computes

Minecraft places most structures on a region grid: the world is split into squares of a fixed size in chunks, and a random number generator seeded from the region coordinates, the world seed and a per-structure salt picks one candidate position per square. That calculation is pure arithmetic, and this tool reproduces it exactly.

What it does not do is check the biome at each position. Minecraft only generates the structure if the biome and terrain are suitable, so a candidate near the edge of the right biome may produce nothing. Read more about the two-step process →

Tips

  • Set the search origin to your base coordinates rather than 0, 0 to find what is closest to you.
  • Choose the version your world was created in — spacing values changed between releases.
  • Open a result on the map to see the surrounding area and other structure layers at once.
